You have modified your powersports vehicle with the best in carbon fiber, titanium, and magnesium in an effort to gain every last ounce of performance. Yet, under your seat is a heavy hunk of lead that was designed in the mid 1800’s.

Ballistic Performance Component Batteries use the latest, state of the art lithium ferrous energy storage technology available to provide you with a smaller, lighter, higher energy battery. Each Ballistic Performance Component Battery is assembled by hand in the USA using computer designed custom proprietary cells, cases, and hardware. As a result, Ballistic Performance Component Batteries will provide more energy out of a smaller package while requiring almost no regular maintenance and under most conditions a longer service life than existing lead acid batteries.

The EVO2 50cc Scooter Battery is the smallest battery in our lineup and is intended for small scooters, motorcycles, and ATVs with a displacement of 50cc and under. The primary advantage of the EVO2 50 Battery is that it doesn’t discharge over extended periods of occasional use. This means you can leave your scooter in the garage for months and it will still start every time. At a retail price of less than $50 it is usually cheaper than the lead acid equivalent.

The 4 Cell EVO2 is designed for use in multi-cylinder applications of less than 550cc and racing applications of up to 600cc where weight is the primary consideration. The 4 Cell EVO2 is also perfect for 250cc single MX bikes. A 600cc race bike uses a battery that weighs almost 8 pounds. The Ballistic Performance Components Battery 4 Cell EVO2 weighs less than a pound! That’s a 7 pound saving for less than $100! You would have to spend thousands on Titanium, Carbon Fiber and Magnesium to get that kind of weight savings. The 4 Cell model can easily start a 600cc sport bike, but we recommend them only for racing applications. If you ride your 600cc sport bike on the street, we recommend the 8 Cell model

The 8 Cell EVO2 model is our primary product. The 8 Cell model will work with everything from 450cc MX bikes to 1000cc multi-cylinder motorcycles. This battery is robust, impact resistant, water resistant, and has more starting punch than 90% of all the powersports lead-acid batteries available. Most motorcycles in this range use an OEM battery that weighs up to 10.7lbs. The 8 Cell Ballistic Performance Components EVO2 Battery weighs a little over 1.5lbs. That is a weight savings of 9.3lbs for less than $160! If your powersports vehicle has a modified motor or operates in extreme conditions then we would recommend upgrading to the 12 Cell for added durability.


12 Cell EVO2

The 12 Cell EVO2 and EVO2L models are the work horse of our line up. This is the battery you need for your built 1000cc and up four cylinder or your big cruiser. This battery puts out as much power as some of the biggest lead acid batteries on the market but weighs as much as 11lbs lighter! Typical applications include metric-cruisers, small displacement Harley’s, sport-touring bikes, and large sport bikes. A YTX20-BS weighs 14.1lbs while the Ballistic 12 Cell weighs 2.5lbs. That’s a 11.6 lbs saving for less than $190 dollars! We also made a EVO2 “L” version with a left side negative terminal to be used as a replacement for the YTX20L-BS.


16 Cell EVO2 Battery

The 16 Cell EVO2 is the biggest powersports battery we make with 500CCA and 28 Pbeq AHs at only 3lbs of weight. The 16 Cell is a direct replacement of the Yuasa YTX30L-BS, GYZ-20HL, and YTX24HL-BS. Typical applications are large touring bikes, ATVs, Watercraft, built sport bikes, and heavily modified Harleys. We highly recommend the purchasing the Ballistic EVO2 BMS Balance Charger to extend the life of the 16 Cell EVO2.


Battery Charging

Ballistic Performance Components EVO2 Batteries come charged and ready to install! Ballistic Performance Components Batteries are very different in chemistry and construction from a traditional lead acid batteries. Ballistic Batteries do not require regular maintenance charging and will only lose less than 10% of their total charge over a (12) month period of static use. They are compatible with your vehicles charging system and can be used in a ‘total loss’ application.

When charging a Ballistic Performance Component Battery with a traditional automotive or motorcycle based external charging device, the following input specifications must be adhered to: Standard Charge: 2A @ 13.8-14.4V for approximately 45 minutes or until the battery registers 14.5V.

Maximum Charge Rate for Standard Automotive based Charger:

Scooter Battery – 5A @ 13.8 – 14.4V for 15 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4v.
4 Cell EVO 2 - 10A @ 13.8-14.4V for 15 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4v.
8 Cell EVO 2 - 20A @ 13.8-14.4V for 15 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4v.
12 Cell EVO 2 - 20A @ 13.8-14.4V for 15 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4v.
16 Cell EVO 2 – 20A @ 13.8 – 14.4V for 20 minutes or until the battery registers 14.4v.


***Warnings***Do not charge a Ballistic Performance Component Battery above 14.4 Volts. This will damage the battery.

Do not allow the battery to be drained below 9.0V, this will damage the cells. If your powersports vehicle has a parasitic draw like an alarm of similar devices, disconnect the battery when not in use. If the battery is allowed to be drained below 9.0V, it may not recharge to its maximum capacity. If the battery does become discharged, recharge immediately.

Do not attempt to charge a Ballistic Performance Component Battery that is below 6.0Volts. A Lithium battery below 6.0Volts is considered dead.

Failure to adhere to these charging specifications or exceeding these limits may cause battery failure and will void any potential warranty claim.
